"The Rose Cross" (i.e., Rosicrucian) was an occult society founded in San Francisco about 1860 by Paschal Beverly Randolph. Leadership of the Rosicrucian Fellowship later fell to Reuben Swinburne Clymer who subsequently moved the secret society's headquarters to Quakertown, PA. A "healthy" cookbook with no meat or poultry, though fish and dairy products are included. We had our open bookshop in the town of Sonoma for a total of 17 years, including 9 years at our East Napa St. location, however, as of April 13, 2013 we have closed our doors. Our business is now conducted online, by appointment, and at the approximately 8 antiquarian bookfairs at which we exhibit annually. Chanticleer Books is a sole-proprietorship owned and operated by Steve Blackmer, a full-time bookseller since 1985 and member of the Antiquarian Booksellers¿ Association of America (ABAA) since 1998.
