When Bavaria became a kingdom, in the early nineteenth century, Nymphenburg resumed its important function as a residential palace This collection is a unique embodiment of the era of kingdoms, written communication, state dinners, banquets and complex family ties; with early ties to the Kane family of San Francisco as some correspondence proves.
