About this title

Synopsis:

Royal Koi & Kindred Spirits is a story for young people and adults that focuses on children with cancer and the effect it has on their families and their communities.

About the Author:

Richard M. Wainwright was born in Newton, MA in 1935. Richad spent most of his childhood in Needham. After a tew year hiatus in the Army, Richard graduated from Boston with degrees in government and psychology. During the next 18 years he served as a teacher, coach and headmaster in public and private schools. In 1981, a safety invention for children and personal and business ties in South America required his full attention. It was not only 1986 that his first book, A TINY MIRACLE, was published. To Richard's wonderment, people of all ages loved the story. It as well as his other books, has been reprinted many times. It takes over three years for Richard and his illustrator to coomplete a book, and all his stories have earned literary awards and accolades for children and adults. Richad's beloved wife of 33 years, D'Ann, lost her battle to cancer in 1995. In September, 1999, Richard married Judith Gale Smith and her wonderful family: Judy's daughter Coleby, son Doug, his wife Peggy and grandchilden Sarah, Kelley and Maggie. Judy and Richard continue to stay cos to Richard and D'Ann's Ecuadorian Godchildren Cesar, Fredy, Pablo and Maria Augusta. Richad and Judy divid their year between Scituate, Massachusetts and Palm Coast, Florida and enjoy traveling, golf, fishing and their "finny friends" in their Koi pond. eguatd r
