A detailed review of the world's most important and picturesque railway lines, which have opened up transport links between countries and territories, in a prolific field of inventive effort. These volumes include chapters on: Aerial Mountain Railways, Building the World's Loftiest Bridges, Floating Railways, "Ice Railway", The Railway in Siam, The World's Most Famous Railway, and more. Written by Frederick A. Talbot, a British transport historian who specialised in railways. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Front hinge of volume one just starting but very firm. Internally, generally firmly bound with the odd page detached but present to volume two. Pages are very bright with the odd handling mark. Light spotting to the endpapers and rear of the plates. Good.
