Alfred Knopf, New York. 1971. Hardcover. 4th Printing of the 1968 original. Book Condition: Fine. DJ: VG+; chipping and missing pieces on top and bottom at spine; price clipped. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Green cloth boards with red cloth overlay and bright gold lettering and branding iron on the spine. 279 pp. The Coes came to NM in 1871 via the Santa Fe trail to Fort Union then to Hondo Valley. Both brothers were involved in the Lincoln County War and later became cattle and fruit growers at Glencoe.
