Map. Lithograph. Measures 13.25" x 19.75". 16mo green cloth, with title stamped in gilt on front board. This is a lovely pocket map of Maine issued by Rand McNally and Co. in 1877. The map details Maine by county and notes important towns, railways, cities, and topographical details are noted. The northern parts of the state are relatively unmapped. The map is in good condition. Minor wear alone the original file lines. Detached from, but accompanied by the original binder index. Rand McNally is an American publishing company specializing in maps, atlases and globes. Founded by William Rand in 1856, who hired Andrew McNally in 1858 to work in his shop. The two men formally established Rand McNally & Co. in 1868. The firm remains in business today. Seller Inventory # 322257
