About this Item

Small Hard back book/cover in good condition, slight wear to edges, as normal for age of book. Clean bright pages, good readers copy. Spine is missing or worn away, most likely it was leather, as all four corners have leather tips. The book while tight and clean is worn on all edges. Cloth embosed boards are red and again worn at edges. This book is about 150 plus years old. There are some minor pencil notations inside the cover. Frontis is an etching of crude looking children entranced by a piper. This story was the basis of Browning's The Pied Piper Of Hamlin, issued in 1888. A rare find, even in this less than perfect condition. As is. Compelling plot, an easy read. Classic 17th century storytelling. Great addition to any book collection. Eventually this book will need it spine repaired. Bookseller Inventory # 5020023
