Includes a chapter about the "great revival of India" including transcripts of personal letters from missionaries living there. [Excerpt from Introduction] Anything on Pentecost is valuable to the Church. Not only does the Church pride herself in history stemming from Pentecost but she delights herself even in this our day in Pentecostal dynamics. If Pentecost be a lost or even a neglected theme, the Church becomes insecure on her historic foundations and powerless in her modern operations. Brother Wiggs has sought to capture the urgency of Pentecost and to rechannel it again into our religious thinking. In his endeavours along this line he has avoided the pitfalls of the extremes. He has steered clear of fanaticism on the right and liberalism on the left. He has tried to discover a mean way that will produce the warmth of revival fires void of life destroying holocaust of wild fire. Such a way is our very need now. Re-Thinking Pentecost is worth reading. It is worth while reading for both the pulpit and the pew. It is good for the mature and the immature. The theologian and the layman alike may find within its pages a sincere effort to bring the riches of Christ Jesus to usward. Passion for the lost, care for the saved is seen in its message. Anything that will assist Jesus in the mid-night cry of our day is of value. As we close our chance as a GentileChurch we are in need of re-thinking Pentecost. We all seethe desperation of the hour. We all feel the utter mcompetency' of humanism to cope adquately therewith. We all reach anxiously toward something beyond the earthy. That something is blueprinted in the Pentecostal message. Anything that will bestir our prayerless hearts, revitalize our morals, reenergize our works is a necessity. Pentecost is all this. What shall we do then with Re-Thinking Pentecost? We must give it a prayerful reading. To that end I commend its printed page to you. Bookseller Inventory # 20160103006
