Early Printing. 4 volumes, part of a larger but incomplete collection of the series currently in stock. All octavo, 9 1/3" tall, I: viiii + 1015 pages; II: viii + 1007 pages; IV: viii + 1350 pages; V: viii + 1105 + original folding 40" x 28" b & w map with three color track markings in rear pocket; all with gilt spine titles on black cloth. All generally very good from plus to minus, clean, sturdy copies over all with moderate shelf wear with various condition issues, light exterior rubbing; soiling to the top fore-edge; hinges and binding solid, but paper lightly yellowed; with foxing to some endpapers front endpapers, some insect damage at the exterior gutter of first volume; some minor damstaining to bottom magin of volume 5 with fron endpaper adhered.
