A tight, very good or somewhat better example, some discoloration to the bottom edges of the boards. Edited by North's sister Mrs. John Addington Symonds. Marianne North was a prominent naturalist, traveler and botanical artist; the recollections in this volume deal with her visits to the Pyrenees and Spain in 1859-60, Switzerland, Italy, Pesth, Constantinople, Smyrna and Athens in 1861-2; the Adriatic and Syria in 1865; Egypt in 1865; the Dolomite Alps and Austria in 1867; Mentone and Sicily in 1869-70 and Syracuse, Taormina, Monte Generoso and Trafoi in 1870.
