Book Description Long Island Farmer Print, Jamaica, NY, 1904. Hardcover. Condition: Good. A complete eight-volume set. Printed by order of the Town Board of North Hempstead, Volumes 1-8 were published between 1896-1904. Volume one published in 1896, Volume two in 1897, Volume three in 1898, Volume four published in 1900, Volume five published in 1901, Volume 6 was published in 1902, Volume seven in 1903 and Volume eight in 1904. Probably first edition, first printing. Spine title is: North & South Hempstead Town Records. 547, 566, 559, 559, 547, 576, 596, 571 pages. Illustrated, lists, records. Each volume has its own index. Volumes five, seven and eight are generally in very good condition, slight fading or normal wear and tear and slight brownish edges, minor tears, volume six - the hinges very slightly cracked. Volumes one through four are ex-library copies and seem to have been bound; some of the blank pages at the beginning or end of these volumes are detached or torn, still contents seems to be complete. These four volumes measure less than 9" in height. These volumes (one through four) are presentation copies by the editor, Benjamin D., Hicks to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, signed by the editor and carry the date of presentation.
