Book Description Torch Press., Cedar Rapids, Iowa., 1927. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. 8vo - 19 x 13 cm.; 313 pp. Maroon cloth over boards with gilt lettering on the spine and the front board. The head edge of the text block is trimmed while the fore and tail edges are not - all as issued. First published in 1923, this is the sixth printing. Black and white photographic frontis of the reverend. Rev. Murdoch was a chaplain with the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in WWI. Signed by the author with a short inscription on the first blank page. The volume has been professionally rebound and repaired with new cloth and boards and the original cloth from the front board laid over the new front. The gilt lettering on this is faded. New gilt lettering (title only) on the spine. New end papers are part of this repair which is quite extensive and very well done. Tipped in on the new paste down front end paper is a letter (dated 2006 in Ottawa) from a previous owner commenting on the book and recommending it to a friend. The interior is very clean and the binding is sound and solid. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted.; Signed by Author. Bookseller Inventory # 29915

Father Benedict Joseph Murdoch was born in 1885 at Chatham, New Brunswick.
