Publisher: Midwest Weavers Conference of 1980
Publication Date: 1980

Book Condition: Very Good
Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket
Exceptionally uncommon weaving item. This is the first Regensteiner Award, issued at the Midwest Weavers Conference of 1980 to honor Else Regensteiner, the person for whom the award was named. Per award description at front of book, it was issued in 1980 to honor the lifetime achievements of master weaver Regensteiner. Regensteiner was a former Bauhaus student and German emigre to the US. The book consists of the award description page, several pages of biographical material about Regensteiner and a number of pages intended to by signed by witnesses to the 1980 Regensteiner Award (i.e., conference attendees). Note that the book is unmarked and the witness pages unsigned. The book was acquired from the estate of master weaver Marjorie O'Shaughnessy, the founder of the Midwest Weavers Conference. This likely means this is a duplicate of the award actually given to Regensteiner. Large folio book with inset fabric in a fabric-covered slipcase. The rear colophon page notes that the fabric inset on the front cover was created by Reg Wick in 1947 and donated by Irene Suyeoka, who wove the fabric with Wick. The book is printed on Barcham Green and was written, designed, printed and bound by Bruce Beck at the Turtle Press. Book: Very good plus. Clean and unmarked. Minor wear. Dust Jacket: None. The slipcase is complete, intact and unmarked. Shows minor exterior wear. 16. Bookseller Inventory # 006417
