About this Item

Norwegian language. Bound in green cloth with titles stamped in gilt; 136 pages. Corresponding 1922 dates to the title and copyright pages; no additional printings. Author Olaf Morgan Norlie's copy, with his signature to the title page (as O. M. Norlie, along with his addition of the author's actual name below the pen-name), and his bookplate to the front pastedown. Norwegian-American collector Herman Gimmestad has added his name to the lower portion of the bookplate, and Norlie also added a number (275) to the title page. The cloth shows some scattered foxing, mostly in the upper portion of the front gutter, but otherwise shows only very minor edgewear. The front hinge has a small repair, likely made by Gimmestad. The rear hinge is intact. All contents clean with no marks other than those specified. Laid in is an invitation to the commencement exercises at Western Theological Seminary in Fremont, Nebraska, on May 1, 1947. This was likely placed in the book by Gimmestad, who lived in Fremont. A nice association item for Norlie (see our catalogue for a few of his works). Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 125236
