About this Item

Octavo, 315 pp. Original red cloth binding. Cloth binding is discolored along spine and edges of boards. Back board shows a few ring-shaped stains. Boards are a little warped. Prelims show some faint foxing (rust-colored spotting). A few pages shows underlining (presumably by Gen. Wimberley). Major-General Doug Wimberley's copy of Liddell Hart's classic work. The association is an interesting one. Captain Hart was a strong supporter of armored forces and flexible defenses between the wars. Gen. Wimberley (Commander of the 51st Highland Division under Montgomery) played an important role in defeating Rommel at El Alamein. (He was awarded the DSO for his service in North Africa.) Our copy includes General Wimberley's armorial bookplate on the front pastedown and name and unit printed on the front free endpaper. Bookseller Inventory # FHE112413005
