Reprinted from the October 18th 1948 issue of the San Francisco Chronicle Fiesta edition. Printed on a hand press in December 1948. An unstated limitation, probably not exceeding 500 copies. 9 x 6.5 inches. Aquamarine-colored paper hardboards. Unbumped spine head and very gently bumped tail, and with sharp corners. Lightly deckled fore-edge to a handsome effect. Title page plus four unnumbered pages of text. Title page with handsome Grabhorn dolphin-and-horn device in blue. First text page with decorated initial in black. Very discreet ex libris sticker of former owner, Albert Sperisen, to lower corner of front pastedown. Rear FEP with 1/4 tear at the fore-edge, scarcely noticeable. Else demerit-free and exceptionally clean inside and out, and rather tight. Very gently read. Just a hint of age. A Very Good Plus copy. An interesting association copy. Albert Sperisen [1909-1999], a longtime San Francisco advertising executive, was widely known as "the Dean of San Francisco print production." Mr. Sperisen was a former Foote, Cone & Belding executive and bibliophile who became better known after his retirement as the librarian of the Book Club of California, as well as for his expertise as a collector and consultant in the fields of graphic design, fine printing and typography. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory #
