Little and James Brown. 1850, 628 pp, 9.5 x 6 , 8vo, early 20th Century hardcover cloth rebind. In good rebound condition, with minor rubbing and wear to boards and spine. Light chipping to labels on spine. Hinges remain in good condition and text block remains bound well. Light markings and marginalia, along with an inscription from 1910 on the front pastedown. Includes floor plans of the building where the murder of Parkman occurred. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. A scarce piece covering the proceedings of the murder of Boston businessman and physicist George Parkman by Harvard lecturer John Webster, leading to a major trial that included one of the earliest uses of forensic evidence and led to allegations of a wrongful conviction.
