About this Item

Printed wraps. 32 pp including covers. A pamphlet issued by the New York Tribune, a newspaper from New York City, which primarily prints congressional testimony and communications between McClellan and other generals in regard to the Civil War. This includes military requests by McClellan, as well as brief reports on various battles, as well as commentary on perceived failures by McClellan in conducting the Union Army. This includes a look at the battle of Fredericksburg, the Peninsula Campaign, etc. These extracts are interspersed with captions that appear rather biased against McClellan. Laid in is a lengthy newspaper article from 1863 providing a 'Report of Gen. McClellan,' and giving an abstract and analysis of the report that concerned the Campaign of the Peninsula and Maryland. Pamphlet in GOOD condition. Tape present the length of the spine and on part of the lower edge. General browning to the piece, heavier along the extremities, with minor soiling and edgwear. Light chipping along the extremities. Two ownership signatures in ink on the front and rear cover. Interior solid and clean. Sabin 69849. Bookseller Inventory # 005552
