Thick 8vo in dark brown cloth. Sections individually paginated totaling aprox. 800 pp. Although tight i its binding, the cloth is stained and faded, there is some holing to the front gutter extendinmg to the first few leaves ansd there is lower corner tidemarking to the first 100 or so pages. Landmark Congressional report on Reconstruction issued during the year after the culmination of the Civil War. The report contains state-by-state sections for each of the Southern States with additional information on Andersonville prison, churches, compensation for emancipated slaves and property destroyed during the War, freedmen and the Freedmen's Bureau, necessity for Union troops in the South, etc. Bookseller Inventory # E14660
