First editon. Hardcover, 194 pp. with index, bibliography. Illustrations by John J. Larkin. Inscribed on the verso of the front free endpaper to the woman on whose land the powder mill once stood. Two studies on the subject of Jacob Ford's powder mill, built in Morristown, New Jersey during the American Revolution. The first section deals with the examination of the few documents available concerning the mill as well as other clues that enabled the Bartensteins to pinpoint the exact location nearly 200 years after the mill disappeared. The second section concerns the archeological excavations at the site, which eventually discovered remnants of the mill. Fine in very good dust jacket. Bookseller Inventory # E6466
