Description:

Entire issue in original wraps, light general wear, minor toning at edges, top spine corner at both front and rear wrap chipped about 1/2 inch, a few very short closed tears noted at edges, including one at fore-edge which extends through the entire issue, very shallow and minor chipping noted at bottom edge, spine separating about 1/2-inch and each end, and a little rough to the touch. Overall, a relatively bright copy that presents better than its description. As a news correspondent in Spain during the Spanish Civil War, 1937-1938, the American author and adventurer sent 28 dispatches for distribution to major American newspapers through the North American Newspaper Alliance, or NANA, including the New York Times and Kansas City Star. Many of the reports were compiled and reprinted in four issues of The New Republic, of which the present issue was the final. Housed in archival bag with stiff backing. See Hanneman C298. Very scarce. Bookseller Inventory #
