About this Item

With 2 large folding maps.Original publisher's cloth, spine sunned some minor wear to covers, small dampstain along joint of front cover. One map detached but present. First edition. This is a very elusive Civil War era Senate document. It is the complete report of General Rosecrans on the Battle of Murfreesboro. There are a number of charts, diagrams and sketches of battle plans as well as the two large fold-outs in the rear. Senate documents are often rebound or in a library binding, but this copy is in a cloth binding that has a vignette of an eagle with shields and arrows on covers, a banner on the spine with "Senate" in it and "US GOVT BINDER" blindstamped along bottom of spine. A very unusual original government binding. Bookseller Inventory # 11529
