Edward Newton s introduction: "We owe much to Mr. Adam for printing these facsimiles of some of the proof sheets of Boswell s Life of Johnson. With these facsimiles before us, we can compare some of the text as originally written with the text in its final form. We will note with what taste and unerring skill Boswell brought his peculiar gifts to bear upon the task to which he set himself.". Bookseller Inventory # 000815
