Book Description Createspace, United States, 2014. Paperback. Book Condition: New. Language: English . Brand New Book ***** Print on Demand *****. It is generally supposed that people who live at home, -good domestic people, who love tea and their arm-chairs, and who keep the parlour hearth-rug ever warm, -it is generally supposed that these are the people who value home the most, and best appreciate all the comforts of that cherished institution. I am inclined to doubt this. It is, I think, to those who live farthest away from home, to those who find the greatest difficulty in visiting home, that the word conveys the sweetest idea. In some distant parts of the world it may be that an Englishman acknowledges his permanent resting place; but there are many others in which he will not call his daily house, his home. He would, in his own idea, desecrate the word by doing so. His home is across the blue waters, in the little northern island, which perhaps he may visit no more; which he has left, at any rate, for half his life; from which circumstances, and the necessity of living, have banished him. His home is still in England, and when he speaks of home his thoughts are ther. Bookseller Inventory # APC9781499545944

Book Description Balboa Press Australia, United States, 2016. Paperback. Book Condition: New. Language: English . Brand New Book ***** Print on Demand *****. What if the greatest mystery of life is to remain in a state of acceptance and respond to life knowing we are always supported? If we are walking along the same path to an eventual outcome, what is the purpose and meaning for each trial and triumph? Are there enough similarities in each of our lives that we can share and learn from? In this book on reflections, the paths we embark on provide an indicative view of the soul s journey. The steps we take reveal questions that require understanding, so that we fuel our growth as a soul being, and break free from the limitations of a human being. Returning Home is a reflective view on the journey we all embark on with collective similarities. It is the fundamental knowing that at our core, is the deepest desire to return home and to know that in the end of our journey, we lived and loved well. Bookseller Inventory # AAV9781504305273

Book Description Dodo Press, United Kingdom, 2008. Paperback. Book Condition: New. Language: English . Brand New Book ***** Print on Demand *****.Anthony Trollope (1815-1882) was one of the most successful, prolific and respected English novelists of the Victorian era. He wrote penetrating novels on political, social, and gender issues and conflicts of his day. In 1867 Trollope left his position in the British Post Office to run for Parliament as a Liberal candidate in 1868. After he lost, he concentrated entirely on his literary career. While continuing to produce novels rapidly, he also edited the St Paul s Magazine, which published several of his novels in serial form. His first major success came with The Warden (1855) - the first of six novels set in the fictional county of Barsetshire. The comic masterpiece Barchester Towers (1857) has probably become the best-known of these. Trollope s popularity and critical success diminished in his later years, but he continued to write prolifically, and some of his later novels have acquired a good reputation. In particular, critics generally acknowledge the sweeping satire The Way We Live Now (1875) as his masterpiece. In all, Trollope wrote forty-seven novels, as well as dozens of short stories and a few books on travel. Bookseller Inventory # AAV9781406598247
