Johann Christian Reil (* 20. Februar 1759 in Rhaude, heute Ortsteil von Rhauderfehn; 22. November 1813 in Halle (Saale)) war ein deutscher Mediziner und Wegbereiter der romantischen Medizin. Er war Anatom, Chirurg, Physiologe, Gynäkologe, Augenarzt, Badearzt und Reformer. Sein Nachruhm gründet sich aber vor allem auf seine Arbeiten im Bereich der Psychosomatik.
