About this Item

Michigan State University Press, MI. A biography of the Massuchusetts abolitionist. Dana help found the Free Soil Party in 1848. During the Civil War Dana served as a US Attorney and argued to the Supreme Court the rights of the US Navy to blockade Southern ports. He is famous as the author of the book Two Years Before the Mast . There is a signed dedication to French Scholar Trusten W. Russell on the inside front cover from the author dated January 1962. Very good copy of the first edition in a good dust jacket. The jacket s spine is sun faded and has some edge wear. 251 pages. Bookseller Inventory # 44503
