About this seller

Specializing in Rare Books & Manuscripts on Spain, Portugal and their former overseas possessions in Latin America, Brazil, Africa and Asia. Since 1969, we have been providing collectors and institutions with rare books and manuscripts relating to Spain, Portugal and their former overseas possessions in Latin America, Brazil, Africa and Asia. The books available through our website are only part of our inventory of 10,000 or so books, ranging from early printed books to 20th-century first editions: if you do not find a book, please feel free to e-mail an inquiry to us - if we do not have it in stock, we will be happy to search for it and quote it, if we find it, at no obligation to you. Illustrated catalogues of antiquarian materials are issued occasionally (of late these have been online), and bulletins of recent Portuguese publications have been issued online about twice each year. We are active buyers in our fields of interest: please feel free to contact us.

Overseas orders of rare books and manuscripts are shipped via
Global Express Mail or registered air mail, and shipping charges are billed to the customer.

Shipping Terms

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing less than 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. Moreover, we now ship almost all books from the USA to foreign addresses via Global Express Mail, and in all probability the true shipping cost will be more than originally stated by ABE; we may contact you to let you know extra shipping. We also maintain premises in Lisbon, Portugal, and occasionally books need to be shipped from there.
