About the Author: Robert C. Prall, M.D., has been a Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist and Psychoanalyst for more than fifty years. He has worked extensively with families in emotional distress, especially those undergoing separation or divorce.
He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and had his training in Child Psychiatry at the Child Study Center in Philadelphia. He graduated in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychoanalysis from the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Institute.
He was Professor of Child Psychiatry at various medical schools in Philadelphia for many years and is presently in Austin, Texas, where he is the Senior Psychiatric Consultant to the Austin State Hospital Children's and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit.
Dr. Prall has lectured nationally and worldwide to professional groups on subjects relating to sensible parenting, child development, and the diagnosis and treatment of emotionally disturbed children and their parents.
He has used the materials he developed on The Rights of Children in Separation and Divorce for many years while working with families in distress. He found it is very helpful if parents consider the rights of their children when they make decisions during and after the process of separation and divorce.
