Synopsis: Kat Balley left her home in Dublin, Ireland for the earthquake torn Caribbean island of San Pueblos. The petite, raven-haired Irish beauty's plans are slightly altered from a mission of mercy, to one of a more personal nature when she meets Allen Collins, a handsome and unpretentious EMT from Chula Vista, California. During the long, hot, hectic days, their primary focus is on the vulnerable islanders' emergency needs. However, they share together the quiet privacy of a tranquil tropical beach during their after-work nighttime hours. After several unforgettable nights together on the seaside; and even though the happily married Allen fights it, they both realize that their closeness and intimacy is growing. Kat is drawn to him and would like to be a part of his life. She quietly reinforces the connection by combining her nimble fingers and the secret knowledge of an ancient Celtic legend. The resulting creation is a wee bit of clever Irish handiwork that is offered as a unique gift to her new American friend. Her re-creation of the mysterious ancient legend of the matching "Friendship Rings" has now united Kathleen and Allen with a perpetual spiritual bond. The joys found in their close friendship must ultimately end, because unhappily, both must return to their previous lives and waiting families. Can the mystical power of the rings sustain their friendship through impending tragedy, over time, and across the many difficult miles between California and Ireland? Join them as they suffer through a series of hardships, tragedies and separation; read of Kat's faith, and of Allen's almost impossible search to find her .
About the Author: J. Bruce Minter is a retired educator living in rural Northern Minnesota. Romantic writing of prose, poetry and song lyrics have long been a part of his heart and soul. A signature device included within each of his romance novels is a bit of special poetry or song lyrics that are specifically written for the individual story characters. He favors a light easy-reading style. But read carefully, for there are deeply hidden clues buried within the story line. Most of his novels include a slight suggestion of the mystical and unexplained. These ideas twist and turn intriguingly throughout the tale. However being a former teacher, he also loves to include a life lesson or two along the way. He currently has several more novels in progress; they will be ready for publishing in the near future. After finishing this one, you will be left wanting for more.
