Spendidly illustrated and with foldout maps which appear to have never been opened until our 2016 inspection. Volume 1 - Historical Introduction - early peoples to 1565, 419 pages, 17 full-page illustrations, one foldout map; Volume 2 - Compromise and Moderation to the Death of Pacheco, 382 pages, 12 full-page illustrations; Volume 3 - The Liberator conquered by St. Bartholomew to removal from Mechlin, 374 pages, 12 full-page illustrations; Volume 4 - Namur and Margaret of Valois to Acceptance of Sovereignty and aftermath with a voluminous Index, 383 pages, 15 full-page illustrations. Very Good, really Fine condition. There is a pinhead of lightening (not whitening) at the bottom front leading corner of each. Tight, firm, clean. No markings, No torn pages, No looseness, No mustiness, no smoke-smell. The hinges are tight and are NOT started. The books appear either unread or, at most, once-read.
