About this Item

Wide 8vo. Stiff grey pictorial wrappers. xiv, 80pp. Extensive illustrations. Very good. Slightest bit of edgewear. First edition, one of 50 copies (according to colophon page) "reserved for Richard Gordon." Handsomely inscribed by the photographer in black fineline on the blank leaf following the copyright page: "For Archie Lieberman, / Mensch / All Best / Richard / Berkeley 98." (Lieberman, 1926-2008, is best known for his 1974 study "Farm Boy.") Tipped in is an Autograph Note Signed from Gordon, 1p, 8½" X 11", Berkeley, CA, 1998 September 3. Addressed to Archie Lieberman. Fine. "The book is disappearing," he notes happily, "not too many left -- and there are a small number of people with whom I want to share it. So enjoy, Happy New Year and stay well." A choice presentation copy of this photographer's photographic tribute to his friend Kenneth Allen Raider (1945-96). Bookseller Inventory # 27516
