About this title

Synopsis:

This book is a testimony to the long-suffering grace and mercy of God as shown in the dramatic up and down life of Bruce Boggess McBogg. Today, a pastor at Christ's Body Ministries, an inner-city outreach to the homeless and poor near downtown Denver, Bruce once served a ten-year sentence in the Colorado State Penitentiary for a murder he committed at the age of 18. During his stay in prison, Bruce returned to the Lord he had accepted at 15 and was paroled in 1972 still consumed with the dream of becoming a pastor. When the world offered fame and success, however, Bruce again deserted his calling to pursue all the glory a worldly walk could muster. For the next fifteen years he wandered, experiencing the prodigal life with an ever deepening sense of sorrow and emptiness before finally returning to the Lord in 1987. Humbler and still in need of the daily grace of God, Bruce is now better able to serve people who have wandered in many of the same ways that he has, thereby making him a truly empathetic witness to that same love, mercy and faithful long-suffering of God.
