About this Item

no date, presumed mid 1900s. Brown stiff wraps. First volume of the Art Lover's Library. Unpaginated. Small black and white reproductions of the art of Rodolphe Bresdin throughout. Primarily a visual checklist to various works by Bresdin, preceded by a one page introduction and a laid in sheet discussing the misfortune of Bresdin's work being overlooked and asking for photos of more of his work. Rodolphe Bresdin was a 19th century French engraver, producing works in a somewhat fantasy genre, and gaining interest from Baudelaire and others (Wikipedia). VERY GOOD condition. Minor scuffing and edgewear to the covers. Light toning in the interior, with perhaps a very faint musty odor. Bookseller Inventory # 009479
