About this Item

Rust wraps with brown backstrip and white titles with photograph of bifurcate point. Some edge, corner and surface wear but still square and securely bound. Some damage to backstrip at top of spine and slightly pulled on rear. A former owner had a personal stamp which he seems to have been fond of using. He stamped the front foredge and a number of places in the book. He also signed in black Sharpie at the top of the title page with resultant bleedthrough. Despite the owner's name here and there, this is still a solid, usable copy. ; University of Tennessee, Department of Anthropology Report of Investigations, No. 14; B&W Photographs, Maps, Charts, Foldouts; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 296 pages; Rose Island is now covered by Tellico Lake. The sitewas an island in the Little Tennessee River, much used by different Native American groups. This is a thorough archaeological study of the site by well-known scholar Jefferson Chapman. All foldout charts and maps are present. Bookseller Inventory # 12978
