Synopsis: Thelma Foster has lots of animal friends. Once, a jackdaw she tamed even flew into the school hall during assembly to say hi to her!
Her birthday is approaching and mum Ellen has spotted a guinea pig in Mr Garside's pet shop that will make the ideal gift.
Will she be able to keep it a secret until the big day?
The story is inspired by the life of the author's mum, Thelma Green, who has always kept and cared for many different animals.
About the Author:
Vyridian E. Green was born in Nuneaton and loved writing while she was young. She was a good breaststroke swimmer, holding all of the breaststroke records when she left school, but unfortunately wasn't good enough for the county team.
She went to the University of Bath, where she read Applied Biology, specialising in Microbiology, and has been working in the food industry for the last 25 years. She has dabbled in archery (compound bow) and golf, and also played table tennis for the county veteran team for a number of years before retiring to look after her mum.
She is currently living in Ross-on-Wye with her mother, Thelma Green, the inspiration behind her story.
