First U.S. edition. Two interesting volumes. The books are both fine and are the same height. One is a little under 150mm wide in a dust jacket price clipped at top of front flap, with "Printed in England" at bottom of front flap and the red cloth a little darker than on the other copy. The other is about 145mm wide and the dust jacket is unclipped but has no price on the front flap at all. The odd thing is that Putnam did not publish this book in England, Jonathan Cape did. The first dust jacket is fine with one tiny closed tear. The second dust jacket has a few short closed tears that have been internally reinforced and touch of soiling. Bookseller Inventory #
