This is an original, complete issue of 16 pages dated October 5, 1889 -- Vol. 61, No. 14 -- Illustrated with wood cut engravings -- Covers and contents tight, very small tear on side of first page, otherwise, very nice condition -- The front cover has two excellent engravings titled "Construction Of The New War Ship 'Maine', At The Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York" (NOTE: This ship blew up on February 15, 1898 in Havana Harbor, which helped cause the Spanish-American War, "Remember the Maine" became a popular patriotic slogan) -- Other articles in this issue include: "The Nickel And Copper Mines At Sudbury, Ontario", "A Hand Exerciser For Pianists", "The Remington-Lee Military Magazine Rifle", "Electro-Plating Dynamo", "Improved Continuous Web Printing Machine", "Canadian Pacific Railway--Mount Stephen, The Summit Of The Rocky Mountains, British Columbia", "Prevention Of Typhoid Fever", "The Seychelles Islands" -- List of recent INVENTIONS and PATENTS, including patents issued to T.
