He says he saw "many things to deplore and many to admire" (p. 20) and then proceeds to offer many interesting and detailed observations of European education methods and suggestions for applications to American education. As in previous reports, he stresses need for school libraries. He also offers many new suggestions as improved education for deaf and dumb, " a method of teaching young children on their first entering school", music education , exercises to help thinking process and much more - a wealth of pedagogic wisdom.
