About this title

Sex Crimes takes the topics of sex and crime, then adds 15 cult and underground authors to the mix to relate tales of depravity, abuse and terror. From mainstream authors like David J. Schow and Wayne Allen Sallee to comic book outlaws Joseph M. Monks and Hart D. Fisher the project collects a group of "orphans": stories with no homes; stories other publishers were afraid to print. Gruesome and relentless, Sex Crimes straddles the genres of crime fiction, thriller and erotic horror supported by illustrators such as comic mainstay John Cassaday to Stephen R. Bissette and Stephen King's frequently tapped collaborator Bernie Wrightson. The goal of co-editors Monks and Fisher was to unleash some of their favorite authors on an unsuspecting audience. The result is Sex Crimes.

About the Author:

Joe Monks began writing when he was nine and has not looked back, particularly in recent years since losing his eyesight. Undaunted by blindness, Monks completed his first anthology of original fiction, Stuff Out’ a My Head, released in 2002 and continues to write and co-publish work with Hart Fisher. Mr. Monks is currently working on his first novel, and still keeps his hand in the comic book field, where he got his start. Mr. Monks lives in Miami with his fiancé, Pam, their dog, Luna and their 2 cats, Midnite and Shadow, and his new trampoline, which is the latest challenge the crazy blind guy has decided to tackle. Mr. Monks plans to have a second solo horror anthology available in 2004 and constantly debates running for public office in his adopted home state.

With a long and controversial career in comics, Hart Fisher’s opinion about serial killers and serial killer culture has been tapped for Larry King Live, CNN Headline News, ABC’s Day One, The Jerry Springer Show, The Sally Jesse Raphael Show, E on OJ, A & E’s Biography, Time Magazine and many more books and magazines. Fisher’s two previous collections of poetry, Poems for the Dead and Still Dead have been critically lauded in Wicked Mystic, Carpe Noctem, and Dark’s Art Parlor to name but a few. Mr. Fisher is an accomplished spoken word performer known for his emotionally riveting performances and has headlined around the world. Mr. Fisher has most recently finished work on the film adaptation of Mr. Monk’s short story, Chance Meeting, for release in Japan as a DVD original and with a full color making of the movie picture book. Mr. Fisher’s first feature film, The Garbage Man, will be release directly to DVD in the fall of 2003 or the spring of 2004. Mr. Fisher lives in Los Angeles with his wife Waka.
