One page typed letter on the author's printed letterhead which includes original transmittal envelope. SIGNED by Mr. Ellison in copper-colored ink with a date of September 5, 1992. The length is three paragraphs and primarily concerns the writer Gerald Kersh best known today for his novel "Night and the City" which has been adapted into two motion pictures. Ellison writes poignantly of the writer who's life had fallen on hard times. Upon learning of his death, Ellison writes- " His death knocked me in the head." A significant outpouring of praise and dismay is conveyed. This reader found it moving, and honest. Several photocopied sheets of information pertaining to Ellison and Kersh accompany the letter.
