Original full calf leather binding but with rear board detached and front board only tenuously attached by single binding string; rubbed boards mildly soiled and stained with worn corners; front board has surface peeling to leather along edges; deep 5.5cm chip to surface leather at spine heel and 2.5cm chip at head with underlying quires exposed at both ends; some edge chipping to spine's red and black title labels but gilt lettering still bright and legible save for squinched concluding "a" of "California" in red title label. Front free endpaper and front flyleaf torn with only half-page stubs remaining; light moisture stains to several rear leaves; creases to rear flyleaves and rear free endpaper. 435 page section is THE STATUTES OF CALIFORNIA PASSED AT THE TENTH SESSION OF THE LEGISLATURE. 1859. BEGUN ON MONDAY, THE THIRD DAY OF JANUARY, AND ENDED ON TUESDAY, THE NINETEENTH DAY OF APRIL.
