About this Item

Subtitled "The Biggest Little City in the World" the book covers the history of Oklahoma City from 1889, the year of the land rush until about 1920. It contains narrative history, stories and anecdotes, and mamy photographic illustrations of the city and its buildings and citizens. Two other volumes were later published, but I'm told the 424-page first volume contains the most history. Not known if the book was published with a dust jacket, but none survives. Binding is still good, no names or markings throughout the book, except for the front free endpaper and first blank page which contain a single handwritten name in ink: Frank Walker. The spine ends and corners show some shelfwear and the cloth is worn through or frayed in these areas. Light rubbing and a few faint stains are evident on both boards and the front board has a slight warp to it. Printed on slick paper, the book is heavy, and the price includes a surcharge for extra postage. Bookseller Inventory # 002343
