Second edition. [2], viii, 269 pages. Hardcover: H 19.75cm x L 13.75cm. Dust jacket with color pictorial front panel; dj rubbed with nicks at edges, some soiling to white rear panel; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Maroon boards, slight scuffing and bumping to spine ends, slender surface abrasion at upper front joint and lower rear joint. Minor soiling and slight foxing to edges; deckle fore-edge; endpapers toned/foxed; a few occurrences of slight foxing to interior leaves which, overall, remain quite clean. Binding retains some crispness. A very good copy in a very good dust jacket. STRANGE DOINGS ON HALFADAY CREEK was first published by Doubleday, Doran and Company in 1943; this Sun Dial Press reprint has a "Buy War Bonds" ad on its dj rear panel which indicates that it is still a wartime edition and thus likely published in either 1944 or 1945.
