Book Description New York, G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1928, 1928. Octavo, original brown cloth lettered in orange on spine and upper board. In the dust jacket. Light toning, occasional spotting, but overall very good in the rubbed and chipped, but pictorially and textually largely complete, jacket. First edition. "This is a novel that is more than a novel. Romance is here; excitement, suspense, tensity[!]. But deeper than that are the amazing disclosures of criminal activities" (jacket blurb). Coe's previous works Me, Gangster and The River Pirate were both filmed by the Fox Film Corporation, the former with Carole Lombard "as Blonde Rosie (as Carole Lombard)." Coe subsequently became Will Hays's right-hand man at the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America. Seller Inventory # 44709
