This 6.125 x 9.125 inch, 399 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is the 1934 first edition of this title with that date on the title page and the Scribner's -A- on the copyright page. This book shows dark blue cloth covers with gilt titling on front panel and spine with only a touch of wear showing to the spine extremities and just very slight scuffing marks on the back panel. The interior text shows a previous owner's inked name on the ffep but beyond that the text is in fine condition with no markings or damage to note. The dust wrapper does show signs of wear and age with a 1.5 x 1.5 inch tear where the top layer of the dust wrapper has been torn from the underlying base of the paper on the front panel and with definite edge- and fold-wear showing - - with several other smaller missing pieces at the folds. The jacket is now protected by a mylar cover. The cover is solid and almost all of it is present. 399 pages.
