Contemporary calf, gilt border, rebacked with a contemporary gilt-decorated spine, morocco spine label. From the library of Charles Atwood Kofoid, with his bookplate on the paste-down. First edition of this scarce treatise on the natural history and production of olive oil by Gandolfi, who was from Imperia, a coastal city in the region of Liguria, Italy. This important economic treatise is divided into five sections with in-depth treatment of the cultivation of olive trees and the varieties thereof, climate and land, harvesting and transport, oil production, and the construction of mills for making olive oil.
