Plain paper boards, backed in green cloth, paper spine label; 8vo; pp. xvii, [1], [92]. Boards lightly rubbed; some fraying along backstrip; paper spine label lightly chipped. Nonetheless, a handsome copy, internally bright and clean, and with the contemporary ownership markings of (presumably) "Janet," cousin to George Buchanan Smith, who was a student at the University of Glasgow. During WWI, he took a commission 2nd Lieutenant in the 3rd Gordon Highlanders and went off to the Western Front, where he was mortally wounded at Loos. Janet records his name, birthplace (Aberdeen), and lifespan (1890-1915), before recording her own. Seller Inventory # D11528
