He served 2 terms in the Maine Legislature and was managing, at this book's writing, the Eaton Land Company in Calais. Eatonville, Canada, is named for him, as is a nearby forest mission called, "The Mission of St. Louis". He dedicated this volume to the North American Indians, and writes stories based on the spirit of rugged New Englanders and their natural surroundings. His earlier work, "Pork, Molasses, and Timber" was about the logging industry and those who worked it. Very good in fair dust jacket. Near fine volume w/ slight foxing. Signed by author.
