Firts edition. WARMILY INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR AND DATED AUGUST 1, 1941 on the front free endpaper. Hardcover. 372 pp. Illustrated with drawings by Rafaelo Busoni. Fine, touch of offsetting to the inner edges of the endpapoers. In very good, price clipped dust jacket with some wear and rubbing to the edges. Armed with typewriter, notebook, daughter and eight pieces of luggage, novelist Margaret Culkin Banning made her way by plane and train to Panama, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and finally Brazil.
