Add to basketA collection of poetry by important poet Siegfried Sassoon, presented by the author 'from an old friend'. This work contains a number of poems focused on London and a number of experiences in the city, such as 'Observations in Hyde Park', 'In the National Gallery', 'Evensong in Westminster Abbey' and 'In the Turner Rooms'.Siegfried Sassoon CBE (1886-1967) was an English poet, particularly renowned for those written during the First World War, which brought him to public attention. He was awarded the Queen's Medal for Poetry in 1957; he had also received a Military Cross for rescuing a wounded soldier during the First World War.This is Sassoon's presentation copy, signed to the title page, 'H. J. S. from his old friend, the Author. 8.6.26'. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally generally smart; there are a few puncture marks to the spine, which have caused a few small lumps to the rear board. The spine is a little sunned, with bumping to the head and tail. With an inscription to the head of the title page by the author. The external puncture marks have led to some internal damage to some of the pages which generally does not affect the text. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. Very Good.
